Chiusa Grande, one of the organic farms with the most certifications in Europe, is situated in the Abruzzo region of Italy, in Nocciano near Pescara. A place where the rolling hills near Italy’s Gran Sasso and Majella mountains surround 55 hectares of vineyards on clay-rich medium-textured soils. Its microclimate undergoes major temperature changes between day and night, giving the grapes unique qualities and optimum properties for winemaking. This fosters the farm’s wide-ranging wine heritage. On one side, there are the native Montepulciano, Trebbiano d’Abruzzo and Pecorino; and international varieties on the other, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
